چکیده

Purpose This paper aims to overcome the inability of both comparing loss costs and accounting for production resource losses Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)-related approaches. Design/methodology/approach The authors conducted a literature review about studies focusing on approaches combining OEE with monetary units and/or issues. developed an approach based Cost Loss (OECL), introducing component consumption machine. A real case study smart multicenter three-spindle machine is used test applicability approach. Findings proposes Resource (ROECL), i.e. new KPI expressed in that represents total cost (including ones) caused by inefficiencies deviations or equipment from its optimal operating status occurring over specific time period. ROECL enables quantify variation product when changes health determine actual given order. In analysed study, most critical orders showed 60% higher than minimal possible under efficient conditions. Originality/value proposed may support managers during identification areas requiring attention representing opportunities improvement terms availability, performance, quality, losses.

A Markov Model to Determine Optimal Equipment Adjustment in Multi-stage Production Systems Considering Variable Cost

Our aim is to maximize expected profit per item of a multi-stage production system by determining best adjustment points of the equipments used based on technical product specifications defined by designer. In this system, the quality characteristics of items produced should be within lower and higher tolerance limits. When a quality characteristic of an item either falls beneath the lower li...

A cost analysis model for heavy equipment

Total cost is one of the most important factors for a heavy equipment product purchase decision. However, the different cost views and perspectives of performance expectations between the different involved stakeholders may cause customer relation problems between the manufacturers and customers. Beginning with the conventional manufacturers’ cost view, this paper presents the necessity and imp...

Reuse of haemodialysis equipment: convenience and cost effectiveness.

The shortage of resources for providing renal replacement makes it essential to reduce revenue costs wherever possible. Assuming that haemodialysis is likely to remain a mainstay of renal replacement, a policy of reusing the expensive disposable dialysers and blood lines could offer substantial cost savings. Such reuse has been shown to be safe and to maintain efficiency, but it must also take ...
